AND As a kid, I loved peanut butter on white bread, Sticking to the roof of my mouth. Strawberry jelly, on light brown toast, Sweet and thick, licking it, as it dripped down my chin. But peanut butter AND jelly. Damn, that was a combination! And that was only the beginning. Eggs AND cream cheese on a bagel. Mustard AND ketchup on a burger. Pepperoni AND sausage on a pizza. Lately, I’ve been trying out some other concoctions. I sunk my teeth into, Black lives matter AND support the police. Capitalism AND social responsibility. Pull yourself up AND we need to help each other. Climate change is real AND the climate always changes. Most recently I’ve dined on, I want to hear you out AND I want to rip your head off. There will always be rich AND there will always be poor. At least relatively. We are not a homogenized glass of milk. So, If you love your peanut butter. Or, If you love your jelly. Take a chance, Try a bite of AND.
