So Much Is Hidden In This World

Yesterday, I reached down and pulled the zipper from the bottom of my foot.
All the way up the side of my leg,
The side of my side,
Around my arms and shoulders,
Around my head
And back down the other side.
Then, I turned my insides out.
So, I could observe,
With a whole new perspective.

We like to eat cows in America.
We like to worship cows in India.
Aren't cows the same in both places?

Forms of bacteria from the beginning of life are still here.
So are we.
Evolution is probably not what you think it is.

Which came first, God or man?

For the first time ever,
My first grandchild was old enough to remember me.
And when he pattered towards me,
And lifted up his arms, gesturing for me to pick him up,
And I picked him up and he hugged me
I …

I just saw the bluest blue jay.
Bright, neon, summer-mountain sky,
Flitting from branch to branch.

Had fried chicken for lunch, today.
A couple legs and a couple wings.
Shared some with my dog.

I should zip back up,
This hidden shit is getting too familiar.
